Our Agroentrepreneurship NC III class embarked on an education field immersion last January 19, 2024 at Orchard Valley Iloilo, a farm in Pavia, Iloilo that produces all-organic products.
🌞 Orientation Kick-off: The day began with a warm welcome and an insightful orientation about the farm’s ethos and practices. Ms. Lily Maligaya, Farm Manager, delved into the crucial aspects of agroenterprise. From market research to forming associations, she emphasized the significance of proposals and seeking assistance. Ms. Lily also highlighted the pivotal role of technology in agroenterprise, stressing its importance in convenience, automation for farm maintenance, and the power of social media in modern marketing. 💡
🐐🐄 Farm Operations Tour: Our next stop? A firsthand experience in the heart of the farm! From goat and cow raising to dairy production, we witnessed the intricate dance of sustainable farming practices. The dairy products, a testament to quality, don’t just stay on the farm – they find their way to local supermarkets and cozy coffee shops across the province! 🥛☕
🌾 Organic Bounty: Rows of lettuce, pechay, radish, spinach, and a herb garden boasting basil and tarragon greeted us. A lesson in the art of organic farming unfolded, showcasing the importance of embracing green practices. These organic delights, along with the dairy goodness, contribute to local businesses and dining experiences. 🌿🛒
🌱 Concocting Sustainability: A tour on creating organic fertilizers and pesticides showcased the farm’s commitment to eco-friendly practices. Understanding the process left us inspired to contribute to a healthier planet.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ma’am Lily Porras-Maligaya of Orchards Valley, Inc., for accommodating us and sharing your knowledge and best practices for sustainability and regenerative agriculture. We are also grateful to Municipality of Sara’s LGU and Mayor Jon Onick Aying for the transportation assistance to our farmers.
